I originate from the NW NSW community of Gunnedah, and although I have not spent much time there as an adult, rural communities hold a valued place in my heart. But for the past 20 years I have been blessed to call the region of Port Macquarie my home.
After experiencing a major event in my life, I received counselling for a time. As I recovered, I became acutely aware of the significance of the counselling process. Alongside my faith, this process led me to become trained under the AIFC model of counselling.
My experience within the Aged and Disability sector as an individual support professional also allows me a richer understanding in supporting individuals to identify areas of concern and strengthen their communication skills, thus better enabling them to voice their higher care needs.
I have an Adv. Dip. in Counselling and Family Therapy (Christian), Cert. IV in Christian Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care with School Chaplaincy Upgrade (Chaplaincy Australia).
My counselling experience with both individuals and couples/family covers a broad range of issues including relationship, depression, anxiety, stress management and grief and loss.
